Email Warmup: What It Is and the Best Strategies to Use

The majority of companies these days use the power of cold outreach in their email campaigns. In the case of this strategy, the topic of email deliverability becomes particularly important. A large percentage of cold emails that people receive either don’t get opened or are sent to spam. This frustrating statistic can be minimized by properly warming up your email account.

What Is Email Warmup?

To put it simply, email warmup is used to establish your reputation as the email account owner. A number of email service providers, including Google, have a limit when it comes to how many emails you can send in a single day. You are required to build a reputation of not being a spammer to use the services to their full capacity. It is possible to prove your reputation by sending warmup emails to selected accounts and then increasing their number as you go. Warmed emails are more likely to be opened by recipients and you will also avoid the automatic spam filters.

What Can You Do to Warm Up Emails?

There is no denying that warming up your email takes quite a lot of work and time. For this reason, a lot of business owners prefer to use automation services, such as Reply, for this purpose. You can learn more about this service from Reply by clicking here: https://reply.io/email-warmup/ .

Some of the steps that you should take for warming up your email letters include the following:

  • Send personalized emails to specific people

One of the techniques that you can begin with is sending individual letters to people that you know. When you have a brand-new email account, you should begin by sending no more than 20 letters a day. This will slowly begin building up your reputation so you can begin using this account for email campaigns.

  • Subscribe to newsletters

Another step you can take is to subscribe to 15-20 newsletters from different companies. The reason is that you need to confirm your email every time and when you do this, your account credibility increases.

  • Try a test campaign

After you have sent emails manually to your friends and colleagues for several weeks, you can begin testing cold email campaigns. You should still use people that you know personally for these automatic campaigns and there should be no more than 50 people on your list.

These are just some of the steps you can take, but they are some of the most effective options.
